How can I get service for my family member?

Funded Services through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services

All our funded vacancies are filled through referrals from Developmental Services Ontario Eastern Region (DSOER).

When a vacancy occurs within our program locations, an OCL Manager determines which factors must be considered in filling the vacancy (female, male, total care, etc.). The Manager then requests referrals from DSOER by filing a Vacancy Notification form. Once profiles are received, they are reviewed by the Manager to determine which may be a good match for that location and the individuals currently living there. Once this happens, supplementary information is received from DSOER and the intake process is started. This process involves meeting with the individual and their family, an intake assessment and visits to the new home, including a meal and an overnight. The transition is tailored to the individual and their family – with as many visits as they and their family may need.

Services are currently available for day supports and activities and/or support for living within the community that can be purchased under a Fee for Service arrangement directly with OCL. This is different from the funded vacancies above.

The individuals and their family meet with an OCL Manager to complete the intake process. This service does not go through DSOER as this is a service purchased by the individual. These services are tailored to individual needs.  Please contact us directly at (613) 254-9400 OR info@ocl.ca to discuss further.
